Singapore Polymer Corp opens offices in China Singapore Polymer Corp. (SPC), a Teknor Apex company, has opened three representative offices in China. The company says that this is to meet a surge in demand for its thermoplastic compounds by Chinese manufacturers in the appliance, automotive, electrical, electronics, medical device, and wire and cable industries. The offices are located in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Dover buys chlorinated paraffins business Dover Chemical Corporation of Ohio in the USA is to acquire the chlorinated paraffins business of PCI Chemicals Canada Company located in Cornwall, Ontario a subsidiary of Pioneer Companies Inc. Dover Chemical Corporation says that it will be servicing the business from existing plants
in Dover, Ohio and Hammond, Indiana. Terms of the agreement were not announced. Acquired in 1975 by ICC Industries Inc., Dover Chemical has expanded its product line to include a complete marketbasket of chemical additives. These include: Paroil® and Chlorowax® liquid chlorinated
paraffins; Chlorez® resinous chlorinated paraffins; Doverphos® organophosphites; Doverguard® brominated and bromochlorinated flame retardants; Doversperse® chlorinated paraffin emulsions; Doverlube® lubricant additives and metallic stearates; and specialty alkyl phenols.

Honeywell sells non-core industrial wax business Honeywell has sold its industrial wax operations in the United States to The International Group, Inc. (IGI). The company has sold its wax operations in Farmers Valley, Penn., Titusville, Penn., and Marshall, Texas, to IGI, a leader in the technology, development and manufacturing of petroleum based wax products based in Toronto, Canada.
Financial terms were not disclosed. The sale to IGI completes Honeywell's divesture of its non-core industrial wax business. In April, Honeywell sold its European and Asian operations to Paramelt BV. The transaction does not include Honeywell's Specialty Additives business, which sells
