ST-100 ARRAY PROCESSOR The ST-100 Array Processor manufactured by Star Technologies, Inc. utilizes a new generation of multiprocessor architecture and advanced VLSI technology to achieve lOO-million floating-point operations per second. This is ten times faster than the computational speeds of many array processors that are often favorably compared to super computers. The ST-100 architecture includes multiple processors for the staging of operations which are essential to the efficient handling of scientific applications in multi-user environments. The ST-100 can be attached to most mid-sized and mainframe computers. Star’s machine was designed in response to demands by scientists and engineers in the disciplines of geophysics, aerodynamic research and development, signal and image processing. A basic configuration of the ST-100 with 512K words of 32-bit main memory and a 48K word data cache is $250,000, including operating and development software, interface and installation (U.S. domestic price). Deliveries are scheduled for the first quarter of 1983. For further information contact Ralph Cook, Director of Corporate Communications, Star Technologies, Inc., One S.W. Columbia, Suite 1212, Portland, OR 97258.
