HOUSE

FUND.

The extending influence and membership of the Society have made it increasingly evident that at some time in the f u t u r e - - t h e sooner the b e t t e r - - i t will be necessary for the Society to find a house of its own, in place of the premises which are now rented. The extent and scope of the scheme would depend entirely on the money available, but it is hoped t h a t the new premises would be sufficiently large to meet all the present requirements, and to enable additional accommodation to be set apart for the use and comfort of Fellows when in London. I t was felt by the Council that a start should be made towards this end, and accordingly the Treasurer, Dr. G. C. Low, at a meeting of the Council, held in July, proposed that a Housing F u n d should be definitely inaugurated. This proposal was seconded by Dr. H . M. HXNSClZ~LL and carried unanimously. I t was decided to transfer to the F u n d ~500 of the Society's assets, and to open a subscription list to enable Fellows, and others who are interested in the welfare of the Society, to subscribe to the F u n d . Now ghat a start has been made, the Council feel sure that all Fellows will take a personal interest in the scheme, and use their influence in bringing the project t o g successful issue. Contributions should be marked " H o u s e F u n d , " and sent to the Secretaries, at 11, Chandos Street. Announcements of these will be made in the TRANSAOTIONS from time to time.
