IFCEB News IFCEB Conference Materials Available

In March, 1985, IFCEB held their First World Conference on Computer-Based Education in Banking, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The three-day conference centered on using computer systems for instructional and educational purposes, particularly in the area of International Banking. A complete Conference Proceedings will be made available to IFCEB members for US $20 and to non-members for US $40. In addition, the following conference presentations will be made available on both audio and video cassettes: 1. "Five Generations of Authoring Tools in CBE" Drs. Bert Camstra, Director of Courseware Europe BV, Purmerend, The Netherlands. 2. "The Possibilities and Limitations of Interactive Video as it is Today" Drs. Freek Gastkemper, Head of the Educational Technology Department at the Dutch Open University, Heerlen. 3. "Why Banking Organizations Should Produce Their Own Interactive Video" Dr. Diane Gayeski and Dr. David Williams, Principal Partners of OmniCom Associates, Ithaca, NY, USA. 4. "CIFPB's Methods in the Use of Educational Technology" Mr. Marc Girard, Director of the Computers and New Technologies Department at the Centre International de Formation de la Profession Bancaire, Paris, France. 5 "Present and Future Technology in Education" Dr. John Heaford, Manager of Computer-based Training& Consulting Services at Deltak, Ltd., Berkshire, England. 6. IFCEB Announces Courseware Library Plan

IFCEB has initiated a Courseware Library Plan whereby IFCEB institutional members can support and participate in the development of a library of CBT-courses specifically designed to meet the training requirements of banks and financial institutions. At present IFCEB is inviting its members to become project participants in two computer-based
