DP-Pumps has developed a n d i n t r o d u c e d two series of vertical multistage in-line centrifugal p u m p s , which it claims offer a n u m b e r of significant advantages. The m a i n feature of the n e w r a n g e of p u m p s is t h a t all c o m p o n e n t s in c o n t a c t with the p u m p e d m e d i u m are m a d e
of stainless steel. The DPV series are m a n u f a c t u r e d from stainless steel AISI 304, a n d the DPVS series from stainless steel AISI 316. The p e r f o r m a n c e also benefits from the optimized s h a p i n g of various c o m p o n e n t s - such as the diffusers - resulting on the one h a n d in higher efficiency, while on the other h a n d the energy r e q u i r e m e n t is lower. The average power saving is a p p r o x i m a t e l y 10%. The m e c h a n i c a l shaft seal of the new p u m p s is designed to

conform with DIN 24960. A n o t h e r i m p o r t a n t feature is that, c o m p a r e d with previous v e r s i o n s of m u l t i s t a g e i n - l i n e centrifugal p u m p s , the shaft/ i m p e l l e r h u b design has been improved. The O-ring seal of the p u m p sleeve is insensitive to t e m p e r a t u r e fluctuations, which assures maximum protection a g a i n s t leakage. The p u m p s of the DPV a n d DPVS series have a d e e p - d r a w n and welded pump-foot. The DPVS is available with intern a l - t h r e a d flanges or with victualic connections. The n e w p u m p t y p e s are s u p p l i e d with u p to 25 impellers. The m a x i m u m capacity is 3.5 m3/h for the DPV 2 a n d DPVS 2 series, a n d 7.0 m 3 / h for the DPV 4 a n d DPVS 4 series. The maximum head is 2450 kPa. Areas of a p p l i c a t i o n i n c l u d e process- and potable waterp r e s s u r i s a t i o n systems, sprinkler, c l i m a t e - c o n d i t i o n i n g a n d fire-fighting systems, cooling water transmission and cutting oil t r a n s m i s s i o n in the metalworking industry.
