In Memoriam We are greatly saddened by the recent death of Professor Emeritus Dr George W. Bruyn. George Bruyn was one of the Founding Editors of the Handbook of Clinical Neurology series, which was first published in 1968. He was indispensable in maintaining high editorial standards for the book series, which established itself as one of the world’s most comprehensive sources of information in neurology. For years, he also played a valuable role as Managing Editor for the Journal of the Neurological Sciences and, until his untimely death, for our journal Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery. All of us here at Elsevier Science who interacted with George knew him to be a fair, critical and impartial editor, who interspersed his editorial and publishing discussions with much wit and charm. It has been a privilege for us to have worked with him and to have known him personally / he will be greatly missed. Our deepest sympathy goes to his wife, Rosemary, his children and grandchildren.
