1984. The theme of the meeting will be 'lubricants in tribological practice' and within the three days there will also be a round table discussion on 'rational production and application of lubricants as a contribution to economic stabilization'. Although a book of abstracts will be published in English it is anticipated that English will not be the major language at the symposium. All foreign participants may present their papers in their own language but will be required to provide a printed translation into one of the Yugoslav languages. In the 1984 Grand Prix season, the Formula 1 racing car of John Hayer Special Team Lotus will use lubricants provided by Acheson Colloids. AntiScuff assembly lubricant was used on gearbox components. This lubricant is particularly important on selector forks where it aids assembly and reduces scuffing and wear. Smaller, more intricate gearbox parts are treated by aerosol to enhance gearbox efficiency. Anti-Seize assembly lubricant is applied to the wheel nuts so that they spin off easily when required without damage to threads. Wheel nuts are vulnerable to brake-heat which can cause seizure and lead to shearing when the nut is forced. Anti-Seize is also used on the manifold fasteners. These could seize if unprotected from the 1000°C exhaust temperatures of the Renault 95 Turbo V6 engine but the lubricant operates effectively to above 1200°C.
