Warsaw, Poland August 22-26, 1994 The International Conference on Magnetism 1994 belongs to the series of triennial IUPAP Magnetism Conferences, designed to give a thorough survey of the developments in the field of magnetism during the last three years. ICM ‘94 is sponsored by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics and by the National Committee for Scientific Research. The Organizing Committee is chaired by J. Morkowski (Poznaii). Honorary President is A. Chelkowski, Speaker of the Polish Senate, and Local Chairman is H. Szymczak (Warsaw). Treasurer and Secretary of the Organizing Committee are respectively F. Stobiecki and S. Krompiewski (Poznari). Supervising publications and the social programme are R. Trod (Wrodaw) and L. Maksymowicz (Cracow), respectively, while H. Lachowicz (Warsaw) is responsible for exhibition and industrial sponsorship. The scope of the conference includes magnetic properties and models; magnetism of metals; magnetism of semiconductors and insulators; amorphous magnetism; thin films, multilayers and surfaces; magnetism and superconductivity; strongly correlated electron systems; magnetic materials; applications of magnetism; and interdisciplinary problems.
The following satellite meetings will be held: The 14th International Colloquium on Magnetic Films and Surfaces (29 August - 2 September 1994, Dusseldorf, Germany), the 4th International Symposium on Research in High Magnetic Fields (29-31 August 1994, Nijmegen, The Netherlands), and Strongly Correlated Electron Systems 1994 (15-18 August 1994, Amsterdam, The Netherlands). Proceedings of KM ‘94 will be published in the Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials. A second announcement and call for papers will be published in November 1993.
