CSCW 2006: Conference on Computer-Supported Cooperative Work, Banff, Canada, November 4–8, 2006 The CSCW Conference is the premier venue for presenting research and development achievements in the design, introduction, and use of technology that affect groups, organizations, communities and societies. Although work is an important area of focus for the conference, technology is increasingly supporting a wide range of recreational and social activities. As more and more people in all regions of the globe are able to interact online, we are rapidly moving toward a computer-supported collaborative world. Appropriate topic areas for CSCW 2006 include all contexts in which technology is used to mediate human activities such as communication, coordination, cooperation, competition, entertainment, education, medicine, art, and music. Given its broad scope, CSCW is a multi-disciplinary conference, and participation of people from diverse backgrounds, cultures and perspectives is strongly encouraged. www: http://www.acm.org/cscw2006/ doi: 10.1016/j.cag.2006.01.005
