The 2001 Autumn Convention took place in Sapporo, Hokkaido Prefecture between 23 and 26 October. The number of registered participants was 891, and that of technical papers presented was 224. A public forum and a special presentation were also held on October 24. The Forum invited a panel of experts to discuss the developments of eco-friendly diesel engines and the state of art. The special presentation organized by Hokkaido Branch explained how degradation of Siberian permafrost causes global warming. On the evening of October 24, JSAE Members’ Party was held, in which 110 members gathered.
A special logo was made in order to mark the 55th anniversary of JSAE. The logo is designed by Ms. Sachiko Nakasendo, Honda R&D Co., Ltd.
2. 2002 JSAE Annual Congress/Automotive Engineering Exposition The JSAE Annual Congress takes place in Pacific Convention Plaza, Yokohama, July 23–25. The Automotive Engineering Exposition is also held in the Exhibition Hall of the Plaza. Note this year’s congress is held later than the regular year’s schedule due to FIFA World Cup.
