UK INVERTEBRATE IMMUNOBIOLOGY NEWSLETTER (International Society of Developmental and Comparative Immunology) JUNE 1986
Thank you to colleagues who replied to my initial letter and apologies for the slight delay in getting out this information sheet. A list of members of the group will be sent out in due courses, together with their area of research into invertebrate immunity. Please keep me informed of any future symposia, conferences or meetings dealing with invertebrate immunology and, of course, recent publications, so that these can be printed in forthcoming newsletters.
~n~RE ~TINGS A.
1986 Conference of the Society for Developmental and Comparative Immunology on 'Molecular I m u n o l o g y in Invertebrates in West Berl in ' To be held in the third or fourth week of July this year Topics will include: (i) (ii) (iii) (iv)
Recognition and first reactions; role of granular cells Cell bound and humoral immune factors Immune inhibition Evolution of immune systems (invertebrates/vertebrates)
There will be one or two sessions per day but no parallel sessions. Each session shall start with a review paper (45 min), followed by several short communications (20 min., including discussion) and posters. A summing up discussion (round table) will end each session. The conference will last for three working days with a weekend immediately preceding or following it. This would allow the participants to prolong their stay in Berlin without losing additional working days. Fur'_her information can be obtained from: Prof. Dr. Peter Gotz, ISDCI-CONFERENCE, Free University of Berlin, Konigin-Luise-Str. 1-3, D-1000 West Berlin 33, West Germany

Symposium entitled 'Phylogenetic development of self-non-self recognition', organised on behalf of the American Society of Zooiogists. To be held in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, later this year. This one day meeting aims to present recent findings for invertebrates and vertebrates with respect to both imn~/nology and zoology
