OBJECTIVES AND SCOPE: The purpose of the Symposium is to provide an opportunity for engineers and scientists to present the state of the art, discuss new developments and exchange ideas in the areas of heat and mass transfer in energy systems and their environmental effects. Invited lectures and contributing papers will be presented by researchers and practioning engineers from around the world. The following topics will be covered: Improvement of energy utillzatlon Thermodynamic analysis of cogeneration Energy intensive chemical processes Metallurgical processes Environmental impact on energy systems Mathematical modeling and optimization Thermoeconomical analyses of energy systems Air pollutlon New and advanced thermodynamic cycles Heat pumps

PAPER SUBMISSION: Potential authors should submit 3 copies of abstracts of about 500 words, with supporting figures, to the Symposium Chairman.
