Intraprofessional relations discussed On January 26, 1987, representatives of the eight dental specialties and the Academy of General Dentistry met with members of the American Dental Assoc=at=on's Committee on Intraprofessional Relations. The Comm~ttee was created in the Fail of 1988 Io study issues that hinder communication between general dentists and specialists and to recommend strategies for improvement. In doing so. it will continue the work started by the Special Committee on Fragmentation of the Association and the Profession. In addition to problems between spec=alists and generalists and problems among speciabsts, discussion at the meeting also focused on risk management, institutional advertising, continuing education, scope of practice, and referral practices. The Committee also met on March 2 3 A final report will be submitted to the Board of Trustees at its August meeting.
