Schnoll Gena Cove11 Britt Virginia Commonwealth University Medical College of Virginia Box 980109 Richmond, VA 23298-O 109 The relationship between maternal addiciton severity (Addiction Severity Index; ASI) and mother-infant interaction (Nursing Child Assessment Teaching Scale; NCATS) was investigated when the infants were four months old. Subjects were 60 mothers who were participating in a substance abuse treatment and research program and their four-month-old infants. Data analysis will investigate the ability of the seven AS1 composite scores to predict the total NCATS score.
