ABSTRACT The electric charge on fabric and fibre filters generated at the deposition and detachment of industrial dust particles has been measured. The magnitude of the charge depends on the intensity of dust particles filter contact, whereas its sign is characteristic of the given dust-filter system. The filtration of cement on polyester fabric was examined in the presence of external electric field. It appeares that only high values of electric field influence the filtration efficiency.
