IOTADERMA #236 What is maschaleperidrosis? Robert I. Rudolph, MD, FACP Answer will appear in the JAAD Online section of the October issue of the Journal.

AUGUST IOTADERMA (#235) In what dermatologic entity is the term ‘‘music box’’ encountered? Answer: ‘‘Music box’’ is applied within the description of an uncommon condition known as spiny keratoderma (also known by the eponym Buschke-Fisher-Brauer disease). This process is often located on the palmoplantar surfaces and can be associated with epidermal appendages, but it can also manifest quite diffusely. It has been associated with both lymphoproliferative malignancies and, along with some other skin conditions, has recently been recategorized within a rather large (and confusing to me!) spectrum of related conditions.
