Italian–Spanish Congress of Thermodynamics of Metal Complexes
This issue of Coordination Chemistry Reviews consists of papers based on communications presented at the VIII Italian–Spanish Congress on the Thermodynamics of Metal Complexes (ISMEC ‘97) which was held at Chia Laguna, Sardinia, Italy, from 27th to 31st May 1997. Since 1989 previous meetings have been held successfully in every other year in Italy and Spain (Modena, Pen˜iscola, Palermo, Tenerife, Rome, Platja D’Aro, Urbino and Granada). They were focused on most of the fundamental and applied aspects of interest in the thermodynamics and equilibria of metal complexes and closely related topics. ISMEC ‘97 attracted 80 equilibrium chemists from Italy and Spain and another six European countries. There were six plenary lectures, 36 oral presentations and 18 poster presentations. The organisers gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the University of Cagliari, Regione Sardegna, SARAS, Fondazione Banco di Sardegna, ESIT, Tecnocasic and Masnata Chimici.
