DYNAMIC
ASPECTS
OF HOST-PARASITE
RELATIONSHIPS
VOLUME 2 of a biennial monograph series on Dynamic Aspects of Host-Parasite Relationships is in the press (Kete! Publishing House, Jerusalem, Israel; editor, A. ZUCKERMAN).It was due to appear during 1975. This series, based on a graduate seminar at the Microbiological Institute of the Hebrew University and also including invited chapters by world authorities, recognizes the fact that sub-disciplines dealing with host-parasite relationships are losing touch with one another, although basic principles are shared. Contact among the sub-disciplines is desirable and can hope, fully be fostered by presenting research problems in each field with necessary background material explicitly stated, rather than implicitly taken to be common knowledge. Given such supportive material, the graduate student or the practising colleague in a contiguous field, should be capable of comprehending the problematics uf research in other sub-disciplines. Volume 2 contains chapters written with this end in view, on viruses (Norrby, Oppenheim, Cohen, Kottler, Heller, Haran-Gera), on insects (Galun), on helminths (Kagan), on protozoa (Spira, Greenblatt) and on macrophage function (Galilli). Volume 3 is planned to appear in 1977, and will be based on selected lectures from the post-graduate seminar and on invited chapters contributed by world authorities in the field. Volume 1 of Dynamic Aspects of Host-Parasite Relationships (Edited by A. ZUCKERMAN& D. W. WEISS)was put out by Academic Press, New York/London in 1973.
