Pump Industry Awards finalists announced This year’s call for nominations for the Pump Industry Awards received a record response, with over 50 nominations reflecting the breadth of pump and system engineering and innovation across the globe. The quality of nominations was also extremely high,

making the choice of finalists in each category a tough one for the team of independent judges. Following a full day of discussion, deliberation and some healthy debate, 23 finalists were selected, and those companies and individuals who made it through

Iwaki acquires Walchem in joint agreement Iwaki Co Ltd of Japan has acquired US company Walchem Corp. The deal includes the majority ownership that Walchem has in Iwaki America. The new consolidated group will be called Iwaki America, Inc. and will operate from the existing premises, in Holliston, Massachusetts. Iwaki America Inc will have two groups – Iwaki Pumps and Walchem Controllers. The existing sales, marketing, engineering and

manufacturing organizations for Iwaki Pumps and Walchem Controllers will continue without any changes, operating independently and reporting to CEO and president Ron Yates. The company says that the move will provide accelerated growth into target markets of thermal management, semiconductor, medical, fuel cells, chemical process, plating and water & wastewater treatment.

• The judges special award, for outstanding contribution and achievement. The winner for this is chosen by the Pump Industry Awards judging panel and will go to an outstanding entry, individual or company. The winner for this category will be announced on the night of the ceremony.
