Grundfos delivers 8% growth in 2011 turnover
G
rundfos sold its largest-ever number of pumps in a year in 2011, achieving net turnover of DKK21.2 billion and net profit of almost DKK1.3 billion. This compares with net turnover of DKK19.6 billion and net profit of DKK1.6 billion in 2010. “The sales development was precisely as budgeted with an 8% growth and we are very pleased that we can help even more people fulfil their basic requirements for water and comfort,” said Grundfos group president Carsten Bjerg. “We anticipate a lower growth level in the European market for a number of years to come, so here our challenge will be creating growth even without help from a growing market.” “We are pumping even more resources into our developing areas and our investments in new production lines and new factories will reach historic heights in 2012. In addition, our efforts to expand the business into water treatment will be boosted,” said Bjerg. During 2011 Grundfos set up a global competence centre for water supply and wastewater near Copenhagen, established new sales companies in South America and invested in new factories in Singapore, Serbia and Hungary. Grundfos spent DKK1.2 billion on research and technology development during the year. A number of new, energy efficient circulator pumps were introduced recently which Grundfos expects will contribute to increased market share, turnover and profit.
