rundfos has officially opened Phase II of its manufacturing unit in Chennai, India. The 7000 sq m plant was built in 11 months with an investment of Rp176 million. Larox divests Larox Flowsys holding to Capillary OY

arox Corp has sold its 49% stake in Larox Flowsys Oy to Capillary Oy in a E3.5 million deal (see Pump Industry Analyst, November 2009). Larox Flowsys supplies pinch and knife gate valves and peristaltic pumps for abrasive, corrosive and other demanding shut-off, control and pumping applications serving process industries worldwide. In 2008 Larox Flowsys had net sales of approximately 16.6 million and employed 52 people. Production facilities are located in Lappeenranta, Finland. Larox Flowsys can use the Larox trademark and company name for the next three years. The sale will not affect the cooperation between Larox Corp and Larox Flowsys Oy.

Torishima Pump posts strong gains in orders and net profit

I

n the nine months to 31 December 2009, Japan’s Torishima Pump Mfg Co Ltd has secured orders worth ¥49.7 billion, sales of ¥29.5 billion, operating profit of ¥1.7 billion, and net profit of ¥1.7 billion. This compares with orders of ¥38.0 billion, sales of ¥29.7 billion, operating profit of ¥1.7 billion and net profit of ¥1.3 billion for the same period a year earlier. Order backlog at 31 December 2009 was ¥70.7 billion, up from ¥57.5 billion at the end of 2008.

SPX seals Gerstenberg Schröder acquisition
