Long system uptimes for vacuum processes Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum’s LEYVAC line of dry compressing vacuum pumps has been developed for the specific requirements of industrial processes and coating applications.

Exhibited at the Hannover Fair, COMVAC, 8-12 April, Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum’s new product line of dry compressing LEYVAC pumps have been designed to increase the efficiency of vacuum processes. The Leyvac line of dry compressing vacuum pumps has been developed for the specific requirements of industrial processes and coating applications in the pumping speed range of 100 m3/h. Industrial vacuum generators of the Leyvac line are small, compact units. Developed for long system uptimes and high process throughputs, the manufacturers claim that these pumps offer an optimized performance for lighter

gases; low heat and noise emissions are further benefits. The frame-less connection of Roots pumps via adapters expands, if required, the demand for an increased vacuum performance. Such a connection is possible with Roots pumps from Oerlikon Leybold’s RUVAC WS/U 251/501 and RUVAC WH 700/702 lines. The LEYVAC line includes two sizes, respectively pumping speed classes each: the models LEYVAC LV 80 / LV 80 C as well as LEYVAC LV 140 / LV 140 C. Nominal pumping speeds are 80 m3/h respectively 140 m3/h (without gas ballast at 50 Hz), at an ultimate pressure of ≤1•10-2 mbar.

The CRP pump is suited for the chemical and petrochemical market and also used in tank farms, HVAC, and power plants.

The PROFIPLAST PBS-USE submerged cable and carrier helps pump displacement without power breakages. OMERIN Polycable Division, part of the wire-and-cable manufacturer Omerin Group, is promoting its Profiplast PBS-Use cable and carrier. This submerged cable allows pumps at the worksite to be moved by using their work cables without damaging electrical junctions. Approximately 90% of pump failures on worksites are related to a break in the power-supply lead. These cables are often incorrectly used to drag along, carry and move the. However, as they are not designed to withstand this type of movement, the electrical junctions often give way under the weight of the pump.

Launched in 2011, while still at the test phase, the Profiplast PBS-Use cable ensures that the power supply to worksite pumps is maintained, while a stainless-steel carrier enables the pump to be moved. There is no longer a need to attach a chain or risk of electrical damage. The product includes the powersupply wires for both the pump motor and the thermistor. This is protected by a sheath to insulate the other electric wires in order to protect them from damage. The Profiplast PBS-Use cable and carrier is can be used for the power supply of submerged pumps that deal with the collection, pre-treatment, treatment and discharge of waste water and is suitable for pumps ranging from 25kg to 500kg. www.omerin-polycable.com

Latest CRP model set up to DIN compliance Ruhrpumpen has introduced a single stage centrifugal pump model intended for its European customers who require conformance to the German Institute for Standardization, or Deutsches

Submerged cable makes moving safe and secure

Institut für Normung (DIN). The all new CRP model is an overhung single stage centrifugal pump in full compliance with DIN 2858. The CRP pump is suited for the chemical and petrochemical market, and can also be utilized in tank farms, HVAC, and power plants. This new model is an addition to the company’s line of OH1 end suction pump models such as CPP and IPP. Rurhpumpen say that the CRP is available in 33 hydraulic combinations capable of reaching every operating condition required. www.ruhrpumpen.com/

At the Hannover Messe in April, Prominent products being promoted its new process pump Zentriplex and a control circuit included a motor-driven metering pump Sigma and a measuring and control unit Dulcometer diaLog DAC. Zentriplex is a new process pump. The diaphragm dosing heads and hydraulic ends are arranged in a star shape around a drive mechanism, designed to minimise stress and load. Manufacture, ProMinent, claim that the pump is capable of achieving higher pressures and capacities with significantly less material and lower drive outputs. Its small size means allows the Zentriplex to be used in confined spaces. As an example of precise metering based on measured values, ProMinent is also exhibiting the new control-type motor-driven

metering pump Sigma combined with the multi-parameter measuring and control unit Dulcometer diaLog DAC and Dulcotest sensors. This combination forms a control ProMinent’s process pump circuit that Zentriplex which features feeds the compact dimensions and low weight. chemical to the process in the exact amount. ProMinent call this ‘intelligent metering’ that aims to save energy at the same time as conserving resources and protecting the environment. www.prominent.com www.worldpumps.com
