Honeywell Resins & Chemicals increases nylon resin capacity Honeywell Resins & Chemicals, a business unit of Honeywell Specialty Materials, has increased its nylon resin capacity by 10% through a series of productivity improvements at its facility in Chesterfield, Virginia, USA. The company has also gained capacity to supply higher viscosity resins used for packaging following

resins under the Aegis® brand for a variety of applications including food packaging and injection moulding. Consumer packaging films produced with the resins are said to offer excellent strength, tear and puncture resistance during transportation. Honeywell Resins & Chemicals also offers basic grade of nylon 6 polymer that can be modified to meet

the termination of an existing swap agreement. The nylon resin swap agreement has been in place with BASF since May 2003 as part of a transaction in which Honeywell sold its engineering plastics business to BASF in exchange for BASF’s nylon fibre business. The company produces nylon

the specific requirements for injection moulded applications. According to the company, these general purpose resins exhibit excellent moulding and extrusion characteristics, making them suitable for many applications. Contact: Honeywell Resins & Chemicals Website: www.honeywell.com
