In Brief • Energy Recovery Inc’s board of directors has approved a share repurchase program that authorises the company to purchase up to US$10 million of the company’s outstanding common stock. The Russian pump manufacturer has signed an agreement with UniCredit Bank to open a Rub1.2 billion long-term loan facility. The 3-year non-revolving credit line, which will mature in May 2019, will be used for general corporate needs. www.grouphms.com • Buffalo Pumps parent company AmpcoPittsburgh Corp has closed a new fiveyear senior secured asset-based revolving credit facility of up to US$100.0 million, with a US$50.0 million accordion feature. Liberty Pumps completes Bergen facility expansion

iberty Pumps hosted hundreds of visitors at their 2016 Open House in Bergen, New York at the end of April 2016. The US sump, sewage and wastewater pump manufacturer recently completed a three-phase expansion which nearly doubled the size of the Bergen facility. In total, the expansion added over 123 000 sq ft to the corporate operation in Bergen. New additions include manufacturing areas, engineering lab and test facilities, as well as a new training centre. The Open House attendees were treated to a tour of the facility, product demonstrations and a presentation and dedication of the new facility by Charlie Cook, president and CEO of Liberty Pumps. Bell & Gossett Little Red Schoolhouse teams up with UA union

ylem Inc’s Bell & Gossett Little Red Schoolhouse and the United Association union of plumbers, fitters, welders, service techs and roofers have formed a training partnership to equip trade professionals in the HVAC field with the technical expertise to service and repair pumps. The first Pump Service and Maintenance class took place last year during UA’s 2015 Instructor Training Program in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Little Red Schoolhouse instructor Stan Kutin delivered key curriculum to 30 craftsmen from HVAC, plumbing and other fields on pump selection and performance, followed by interactive exercises on actual B&G pumps in repairing mechanical seals and other service techniques. UA training specialist John Hopkins also visited the Little Red Schoolhouse in Morton Grove, Illinois,
for instruction prior to the class. UA will offer the 20-hour course again at its 2016 Instructor Training Program, scheduled for 13-19 August 2016. “Sharing our expertise in hydronic heating systems with UA’s members is a natural extension of our Little Red Schoolhouse classes and our Online Little Red Schoolhouse curriculum,” said Larry Konopacz, manager of training and education at Xylem. “We are pleased to continue this valuable training with UA in 2016.” “UA is committed to providing its members with the best teaching tools available, and this partnership with the Bell & Gossett Little Red Schoolhouse helps achieve that goal,” said Chris Haslinger, UA director of training. “Demand for HVAC service technicians is growing and the field is becoming ever more technical in nature, making partnerships with manufacturers like Xylem essential to enhancing our members’ knowledge of the scientific and technical aspects of the trade.” The Bell & Gossett Little Red Schoolhouse is a state-of-the-art training facility at Xylem’s facility in Morton Grove, Illinois. Since 1954, Little Red Schoolhouse has trained more than 60 000 engineers, contractors and installers in the design, installation and maintenance of hydronic systems as well as the latest technologies and regulations that affect the industry. An Online Little Red Schoolhouse was launched in 2015, and a second Little Red Schoolhouse opened in Nanjing, China in 2013. GIW Industries marks 125th year

IW Industries Inc is celebrating its 125th year in operation in 2016. Over the years, the Grovetown, Georgia, USA-based slurry pump manufacturer has grown from a small, family-owned business to a global supplier. GIW started out in 1891 as a small foundry and machine shop in Augusta, Georgia, under the name Georgia Iron Works. The company began building slurry pumps in 1914. KSB acquired GIW in 1996. GIW continued to operate under the name GIW Industries until 2014, when its slurry products were officially rebranded as GIW® Minerals.
