Compounding of PVC
Buss America has introduced a single-screw kneader-extruder which is said to produce a more efficient method of producing rigid PVC compounds for window and other profile extrusions. The new kneader screw design is said to allow processing ~rn~rat~es down to 16OW and rigid compound outputs of 2,000 160X.

A new range of photoluminescent pigments from Permalight in W. Germany, are supplied as granules for all types of plastics. The granules are available with pho~l~~escent pigment portions varying from 10% to 40% and come in green, yellow, orange, and red. Possible applications include emergency signage, light switches, toys, and jewellery. Special grades for extrusion are available.
