This conference will be organised by the European Society for Philosophy of Medicine and Healthcare (ESPMH) and die Finnish Society for Philosophy of Medicine. Abstracts addressing the following topics can be submitted: Nature of medicine* Medicine between science and humanities Philosophy and alternative/complementary medicine Philosophy in medical education Humanities in medical education Medicine as a resource for philosophy Philosophy as a resource for medicine Literary representations of philosophy and medicine Medicine and metaphysics Aesthetics and other human values in medicine The embodied human *By using the terms medicine and medical we do not intend to exclude nursing or other health care professions

The program of the conference includes plenary sessions as well as parallel sessions. Persons wishing to present papers at the conference are invited to submit an abstract (500 words maximum) before December 1, 2005. Abstracts will be selected for oral presentation by the Conference Program Committee. Please send abstracts (through E-mail or on diskette in Word) to
