PATENTS (52) of the seal plate (10). The functional layer has a first combustion chamber layer opening (30a), and the cover layer has a second combustion chamber layer opening (12a), in order to form the combustion-chamber plate opening. A first combustion-chamber sealing bead (22) – which surrounds the first combustion-chamber layer opening – is formed in the functional layer, and the cover layer is flat, at least in an annular region that extends in a radial direction from the second combustion-chamber layer opening (12a) to a radial outer edge (22a) of the combustion-chamber sealing bead (22). The second combustion-chamber layer opening (12a) is designed such that around the opening the cover layer protrudes at least past the functional layer (30), lying closest to the cover layer (12), in the direction towards the centre of the combustion-chamber plate opening, along at least one circumferential region of the opening. This invention, detailed by patent WO/2015/058924, relates to a cylinder-head seal, comprising a metal seal plate (10) that has at least one combustion-chamber plate opening (14 & 16) and multiple seal layers (12, 30 & 32).

Gasket Applicant: NOK Corp, Japan This patent provides details of a gasket that is designed in such a way that sealing surface pressure can be increased and an increase in the gasket reaction force can be prevented – thereby improving the sealing performance and reducing deformation of a counterpart case. This rubber gasket is formed as a single body and is mounted between two opposing members to form a seal between them. One surface of the gasket, in the thickness direction, is provided with an inside lip and an outside lip, which are side by side. The other surface of the gasket, in the thickness direction, is provided with a recess in the centre (in the width direction of that surface), with an inside protrusion and an outside protrusion that are provided, respectively, on one side and the other side of the recess. The tip part of the inside lip and the tip part of the inside protrusion are arranged at positions offset from one another in a plane. Similarly,

Sealant compositions for use in subterranean formation operations Applicant: Halliburton Energy Services Inc, USA Embodiments of this patent include methods for producing a sealant composition, comprising an aqueous base fluid, a “cross-linkable” polymer composition and an agent for preventing density segregation. The polymer composition consists of an organic polymer and a crosslinker. A particulate density reducing agent is introduced into the sealant composition. This agent causes the composition to adopt a reduced density, compared with the sealant composition without the agent – thereby creating a reduced density sealant composition. The latter is introduced into a subterranean formation, and is cross-linked, creating a gel to form a seal in the formation. Patent number: WO/2015/065378 Inventors: B.R. Reddy, L.S. Eoff, C.A. ponent having a sealing profile that includes engaging protrusions in between which are collapsible tubes. The well assembly described has a housing (12) with an inner surface (14). The assembly includes a tubular member (18), inserted into the housing, and has an outer surface (32). The assembly further includes a plurality of protrusions (38) extending from one of the inner or outer surfaces. These protrusions are separated by gaps (40) defined between adjacent protrusions. In addition, the well assembly includes a metal-to-metal seal (20) pressed against and deformed by the protrusions. A plurality of hollow tubes is provided for insertion into the gaps between the protrusions. These tubes are collapsible upon engagement with the metal-to-metal seal. Metal chevron seal for a well tool Applicant: Halliburton Energy Services Inc, USA A seal assembly, containing a chevron seal ring, used in a well tool, is described by this patent. The well tool has an elongated, metal outer tubing and an elongated, metal inner tubing. The latter is received in the outer tubing so that it is capable of moving axially with respect to it. A metal annular seal assembly is provided between the outer and inner tubing, residing in a seal chamber of the outer or inner tubing. This seal assembly has a centre ring, a chevron seal ring on each side of the centre ring and an end ring at each axial end of the seal assembly. The seal chamber and seal assembly fit together tightly. Patent number: WO/2015/065342 Inventors: A.R. Curington Publication date: 7 May 2016

Patent WO/2015/065760 provides details of a tube arrangement to enhance sealing between tubular members used in oil and gas wells. The illustration above depicts a side cross-sectional view of an example of well components, showing sealing protrusions (38) that extend from the tubing hanger (18) or well-head (12).
