New aerospace profile seals catalogue introduced Simrit, the industrial sealing products division of FreudenbergNOK, has published a profile seal catalogue specifically for aerospace customers. The brochure features a variety of seals, including pull-thru; P-seals; D-seals; E-seals; Omega-seals; Tseals; U-seals and a section on specialty seals, with cross-sections that detail the specific measurements for each product. The seals can be produced by a variety of manufacturing methods and incorporate
various substrates, which can be spliced together to form complete sealing solutions. The applications for these seals are numerous and can be found in everything from abrasive aerodynamic environments to areas where the seal is required to be fireproof. Metal seals added to range Moontown has introduced a range of metal seals to complement the existing range of spring energized PTFE seals marketed by the firm. They allow the company to provide seals for applications where the PTFE seals may not be suitable because of temperature, pressure, radiation, permeability, fatigue or corrosion. The metal seals are available in O, C and E sections for static cuties. A special U section is also available that can offer limited linear movement in for example expansion joints. Spring energized versions of the ‘C’ ring seals can also be supplied for more
critical and demanding applications including limited reciprocating and rotating motion. The total range of applications and operating limits for the seals includes; liquid or gas, at temperatures from –253ºC up to 1100ºC, vacuum to 3450 bar. They can be supplied in cross sections from 0.89 to 12.7mm and seal diameters from 9.52 to 3048mm. On-line ordering of gaskets made simple Rexio Elastomertechnik GbR has introduced an on-line ordering system for flat cut gaskets which is designed to make the process simple and save time and money. The website is designed to allow the user to quickly and simply order made-to-measure flat seals and gaskets. The first step is to define the basic shape of the seal; circle, ring, rectangle etc. Special profiles are manufactured from technical drawings which can be uploaded as an image to the website. The material can then be selected after which a window opens to receive any customer-specific information on external and internal diameter, the thickness needed, the number of holes, the
number required etc. Forty different elastomer and plastic materials are available. The tailor-made seals will be delivered anywhere in Europe within eight working days. Contact: Rexio Elastomertechnik GbR, Rolandskoppel 15, D-24784 Westerrönfeld, Germany. Tel: +49 4331 14808815, Email:

Editor’s comment: It does seem to work. The website provides access to a sample drawing on which dimensions can be added. The options are rather limited, a conventional circular gasket only provides options for four or eight holes.
