RE Components has developed a high flexibility silicone diaphragm for shower control valves. closed valves in pipelines and clogged filters, while permitting high pipe velocities d u r i n g clean-in-place cycles. The c o m p a n y carried out extensive research to find the most suitable combination of food grade materials capable of operating at such a high temperature and still offering a reasonably long flex life. The exact combination was chosen after many alternatives, including silicone and nitrile, had proved unsuitable for the demands of the application.
new EXtronic ® solenoid-type metering pumps from ProMinent feature effective all-round explosion protection making them suitable for use in hazardous firedamp locations. They fulfil all specifications for EXprotection of Group I. The advantage of these pumps is that
the entire pump, including the liquid end, is explosion proof and has BVS approval. The housing of this version is made of bronze thus excluding the possibility of sparking. As standard in such applications, the drive voltage is 500 V. The entire pump is designed with type of enclosure IP 65 thus ensuring dust and hose water cannot enter. In the same way as their sister models of EX Group II, the new ProMinent EXtronic metering pumps are based on the short-stroke solenoid-driven diaphragm-type metering pump from ProMinent. Their mechanical design is kept uncomplicated as the maintenance-free and non-wearing solenoid armature is the only moving part in the drive. It deflects the metering diaphragm directly by up to 1.25 mm. The capacity ranges from 0.23 1/h to 60 l/h at a back pressure of up to 25 abr. The E X t r o n i c m e t e r i n g pumps comply with the harmonised EC stipulations of EN 5 0 0 1 4 / 5 0 0 1 8 for f l a m e p r o o f type of protection. They feature the highest degree of protection of this type of enclosure. Three different types of activation can be selected for these pumps. Like time-released medicine, the packings reservoirs slowly release lubricant under gland pressure and increased temperature. The lubricant mig-rates t h r o u g h InnerLube's packing structure to reduce shaft friction, and prevent the packing fTom drying out and hardening. InnerLube absorbs twice the amount of blocking agents of conventional packing for improved leakage control. The interbraided, pretreated synthetic fibres that form the packing a r e n o n - s t a i n i n g a n d chemically resistant.

Valves standardised for chemical applications A no-maintenance design and simple spare parts stockkeeping are the key benefits of KSB's Norichem ® and Nori ® 40 globe valves. The stainless steel and C steel valves are of identical construction and available as straight- or slanted-seat models for nominal diameters up to PN 40. Depending on the pipeline requirements, they are fitted with flanged or weld ends. The C steel variant accommodates temperatures up to 450°C. Sealing to a t m o s p h e r e is achieved by a high-quality bonnet seal combined with a bellows-type stem seal. The bellows seal is backed up by an additional safety gland packing. Chesterton has developed an innovative packing using a patent-pending construction that incorporates lubricant resevoirs within the braided structure. The company says that InnerLube Advanced Packing provides better leakage control, greater resiliency and flexibility, reduced sleeve wear and longer life. The packing is lubricated with PIT~, and further coated with a specially formulated break-in lubricant. This provides increased lubrication at start-up and continues to disperse lubrication Norichem ® shut-off valves are designed to withstand aggressive during operation, resulting in and toxic fluids.
