Office interventional laryngology and has seen a new resurgence in this decade because of advances in laser technology, video laryngoscopy, and computerized imaging. Also, improvements in injectable implant material make many prodedures previously operative suitable for office intervention. Office interventional layrngology under local anesthesia has a high rate of patient acceptance. It is more efficient in terms of time usage relative to reimbursement and presents improved risks for the patient. How-

ever, not all lesions are suitable for office intervention. The discussants will cover six main topics: 1. Indications for office laryngology and the office setup for office interventional laryngology. 2. Coding and reimbursements issues for office interventional laryngology. 3. Office injection laryngoplasty for presbyphonia and vocal cord paralysis, and other glottic insufficiencies. 4. Office Botox injection for spasmodic dysphonia, vocal fold dysfunction and laryngeal spasm. 5. Office-based brush biopsy and removal of lesions. 6. Office use of laser, including pulsed dye laser and the CO2 waveguide for treatment of benign and malignant lesions of the larynx.

It is critical that otolaryngologists and the AAO-HNS continue to be an integral part of the development of guidelines and measures and to have a role in value based purchasing models.
