These two volumes contain nearly a hundred-and-thirty papers given at the International Congress for Energy and the Ecosystem, held at the University of North Dakota in June 1978. They cover their subject comprehensively, dealing with a wide range of environmental problems in most of the major coal-producing countries of the world.

These articles are a selection of the papers given at the International Symposium on the Analysis of Hydrocarbons and Halogenated Hydrocarbons in the Aquatic Environment, held in May 1978.
