Multimodal Imaging of Congenital Rubella Retinopathy An asymptomatic 45-year-old woman with history of deafness secondary to congenital rubella syndrome presented to the eye clinic for a routine examination. Right eye (Fig 1A) and left eye (Fig 1B) fundus photographs demonstrate stippled hypo- and hyperpigmented retinal pigment epithelial changes consistent with a salt-and-pepper retinopathy. Fundus autofluorescence (Fig 1C and D) demonstrates hypo- and hyperautofluorescent changes corresponding to the pigment changes. Spectral domain optical coherence tomography of the right eye (Fig 1E and F) and left eye (Fig 1G and H) demonstrate focal areas of retinal pigment epithelial thickening, an indistinct interdigitation zone and ellipsoid zone, and prominent deep choroidal vessels.
