My Body Aches Aung Zaw Win, MD, MA, MPH

I come from Myanmar, a neglected third world Fat in my gallbladder, my body is curled Here I come, O’ Land of the Free! Your insurance card? I can’t reply with glee. Years of neglect, molar’s paying the price Free dental care? I asked for some advice I was answered with a stare, without any flair Sorry, from your pocket must come the fare. Tis the season to be wary, for the Flu touches all I can’t help it, I have it, Now I can’t even crawl I need a prescription to buy the med, But alas, I don’t have it, with tears I said. Because of my bodily woes, my spirit is low My mind is slow and my thoughts cannot flow, Who will take care of my mental health? That I value far greater than wealth. My plan has no vision, I don’t see well I tripped and down the stairs I fell My back is in pain, I walk with a cane How my body aches, my body, my bane.
