Conferences Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation Programs A manual and audiotapes from the recent conference on "Rights of Access and Surface Use" is currently available from the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation. These materials contain a practical approach to resolving surface use and rights of access problems on all categories of land. A variety of applications on mineral exploration operations, including geophysical exploration, seismic operations, and exploration agreements are addressed. National Conference on Risk Communication On January 29-31, 1986, The Conservation Foundation will coordinate a conference for government officials, industry representatives, environmentalists, the press, consumer groups, and other interested citizens who share an interest in the risks that chemicals pose to humans and the environment. The conference will raise the level of debate on environmental and health issues: it will feature talks by Lee Thomas, Administrator of the US Environmental Protection Agency, and William D. IAIA Annual Meeting for 1986 The International Association for Impact Assessment will hold its annual meeting in conjuction with the 1986 annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) May 25-30, 1986 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A call for papers has been issued: the theme for the 1986 meeting is "Enhancing the Impact of Impact Assessment". Relationships between the users of impact

Water Resources Planning Conference "Incorporation of Social and Environmental Objectives in Water Resources Planning and Management" will be held May 11-16 in Santa Barbara, CA. The conference will be held at the Engineering Foundation Conference facility and will include lectures and workshops. Attendees are expected to participate the entire week. Dispute Resolution Meeting The Third National Conference on Environmental Dispute Resolution will be held May 29 affd 30, 1986 in Washington, DC. The conference is sponsored by The Conservation Foundation and is designed for business leaders, environmentalists, public officials, attorneys, planners, and others interested in new approaches to resolving environmental disputes. Course on Hazardous Wastes, Superfund and Toxic Substances The annual AL1-ABA Course of Study, "Hazardous Wastes, Superfund, and Toxic Substances" was presented on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, October 31:-November 2, 1985, at the Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington, DC. The course provided up-to-date information on significant legal and scientific issues involving toxic chemical and hazardous wastes. Recent legislative and judicial developments at the federal and state levels were reviewed and analyzed. AEP/NAEP Joint Conference The Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP) and the National Association of Environmental Professionals (NAEP) are announcing their first joint annual conference to be held in San Francisco, April 24-27, 1986. The theme of the conference is "Environmental Management---Can We Afford It?" Topics will range from Toxics and Risk Management to Coastal Development and Large Scale Land Planning. In all panels and presentations, emphasis will be on the social benefits and economic costs of solving pressing environmental problems.
