Wear ring workshops
Greene, Tweed is launching a series of workshops throughout the UK to inform pump maintenance, repair and operations companies and original equipment manufacturers of the benefits of using thermoplastics as wear rings and bearings. The workshops will concentrate on the practical application of wear ring products, and how to design and install them into a new or existing applications. DaimlerChrysler safety fine DaimlerChrysler will pay a US$400,000 fine to US federal safety regulators, one of the largest ever assessed by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, for failing to provide documents to investigators. The agency said the automaker did not provide its investigators with information related to two recalls. Daimleri i Chrysler said the information lwas contained in other J submitted documents, and believes it acted in a timely manner. In the July settlement, the company denied violating federal safety laws and did not admit wrongdoing. One of the recalls, in January 1999, affected 700,000 1993-97 LH sedans, in which O-ring seals that could leak fuel were replaced. CPXG seal-less pumps
