Maguire extends warranty coverage

New control system for hazardous environments MTL has signed long term contracts to supply its MTL8000 Series Process I/O system to two of the world's leading suppliers to process industry manufacturers. Honeywell Industrial Automation and Control, a leader in the development and sales of process control equipment, will integrate the system into its TotalPlant ® Solution system to provide fully distributed control in hazardous areas.

Moore Process Automation Solutions has also selected the system. The company is a leading supplier of batch control and plant safety systems. MTL supplies intrinsic safety devices for explosion prevention in the process industry. Process I/0 can be mounted at any point in the process and is designed for use in all types of process applications including those with harsh environments and hazardous areas.

Maguire Products has increased its warranty coverage on gravimetric blenders, volumetric feeders and liquid colour pumps from three to five years. The company claims to be the first auxiliary equipment supplier to offer five year coverage, according to B Patrick Smith, vice-president of marketing and sales.

"Based on the excellent performance of our equipment through years of use around the world, we are completely confident in making this warranty extension," he adds. "Our products have a design life of ten years and we manufacture them to run problemfree for at least that period of time."

Compact bagging system is easy to install The new Chrono-fill SpeedLine high performance bagging system does not require the usual lengthy installation procedures, claims UK machinery manufacturer Chronos Richardson. The system is fully pre-tested and is delivered to the site ready for operation. The control system is now a separate item and has been integrated into the standard machine. The company says that simple air and electrical connections m-~eanthat the Chronofill SpeedLine is straightforward to install and commission. The Chrono-fill SpeedLine has been. specifically developed for the high performance bagging of free flowing loose materials, such as plastic pellets. Chronos Richardson adds that simplification of structural components and operating procedures provides a number of additional features. The machine is said to

be compact, minimizing the on-site space requirements. It offers improved reliability, economical long term operation and is easy to operate, according to the company.

The bags are controlled throughout the entire filling process. SpeedLine can use bags made of both permeable and impermeable materials. An interlocked sliding door

provides easy access for cleaning and maintenance purposes. The system is operated by a user-friendly graphical interface, housed in an integral moveable terminal.
