VISITEC® Adds Two Knives to Phaco Product Line SARASOTA, Fla.- VISITEC Company has added two knives to its extensive line of ready-to-use products for phacoemulsification procedures: the 1134 EdgeAhead Phaco Slit Knife (Straight) 2.3 mm and the 1135 EdgeAhead Phaco Slit Knife (Angled) 2.3 mm. These knives are designed to create a precise incision for micro phacoemulsification handpieces. The non-glare, matte finish minimizes glare and reflection from microscope light. The thin blade profile and super-sharp edges provide smooth penetration and minimize tissue distortion. The knives' parallel sides eliminate the possibility of catching the iris or tugging the sclera upon removal. EdgeAhead Phaco Slit Knives are mounted on a no-slip, sure grip handle with a ridge indicating the position of the knife edge. They are packaged three per box, in a specially designed carrier to protect the blade and ensure sharpness. EdgeAhead Phaco Slit Knives are also available in 2.5 mm, 2.65 mm, 2.8 mm, 3.0 mm, 3.2 mm and 3.5 mm sizes. Katena has added four Adson Forceps to its line of quality ophthalmic instrumentation. Adson forceps make excellent utility forceps and are often preferred by ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive plastic surgeons because of their long handles with large, comfortable gripping surfaces. Dressing forceps have serrated tips, while tissue forceps have lx2 teeth. Both types of forceps are available with standard or delicate tips.
