Post-synthesis modification of zeotypes with organometallics
US 7,119,225, Du Pont, Wilmington, DE, USA, 10 Oct 2006
The performance of SAPO zeotypes for the MTO process is improved if the interior surfaces of the catalyst are modified by treatment with organometallic compounds such as diethyl zinc or a Grignard reagent.
Production of an un-supported zeolite membrane The zeolite used was ZSM-22. Two methods were used for making the membrane. The precursor gel was pressed uniaxially at high pressure, room temperature, into the form of the membrane and then dried and calcined. Alternatively, a slurry of the precursor gel was slip-cast in a mould and the product was exposed to the vapours of a solvent mixture at elevated temperature and pressure. The products were demonstrated to be useful isomerisation catalysts.
