ANNOUNCEMENT New Editor
OLIVIER POURQUIE´
Academic Press and members of the Editorial Board of Developmental Biology are pleased to announce that Dr. Olivier Pourquie´, from the Laboratoire de Ge´ne´tique et de Physiologie du De´veloppement, Developmental Biology Institute of Marseille, is joining the Journal as an Editor. Dr. Pourquie´, an internationally recognized expert on vertebrate embryogenesis, has made seminal contributions to our understanding of the mechanisms underlying somitogenesis and embryonic segmentation. His recent studies on the identification of a molecular clock have provided a framework for interpreting embryologic observations of periodicity of the paraxial mesoderm that foreshadows somite formation. We welcome Olivier to the Journal and look forward to his involvement. Eric N. Olson Editor-in-Chief
