A complete hardware and software solution to real-time control of epitaxy (MPE, MOVPE, etc.) and other deposition processes (sputtering,
PECVD etc.) has just been launched by EpiSoft. The EpiSoft Deposition Process Expert System (DPES) was recently demonstrated at TFR's office on a portable laptop PC. It was stated that "The DPES has the capability to control all aspects of process loop performance, either individually or from user-defined process specifications. In addition, the fully integrated DPES environment offers such features as calibration maintenance, process loop slaving, simultaneous de-gas sequence execution, process data acquisition and subsequent data review, user defined units/data formats, security, data output, and much more." It is fully user-configurable to provide the most comprehensive control of deposition equipment such as MBE or MOVPE. "The EpiSoft system unlocks the full potential of

Published on 3.5 inch disks, the IBM PC compatible DOS based program guides users quickly through the Company's ICP and ICP-MS instrumentation. The specs and features of Fisons ICP and ICP-MS instruments and their accessories are all included on the program, with relevant standards for different application areas. Using a logical menu structure, the program facilitates rapid reference to all aspects of the instruments, and animated demonstrations show the technical operation of the main ICP and ICP-MS systems. With simple click-on operation of the menus, the user can also access the main application areas for Fisons Instruments Elemental Analysis spectrometer instrtfmentation. These cover semiconductor, environmental, nuclear, earth science, general chemical and materials analysis applications. The program was developed with, and has been extensively tested by, users to offer the best information support to ICP and ICP-MS operators in all types of application areas.
