NPD/ECONOMIC REVIEW

NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENTS • Tarby Inc has expanded its Titan line of pumps and replacement parts. According to Tarby, the Titan PC pump is designed as a dropin replacement for Seepex* BN series pumps and all internal components are interchangeable. Titan manufactures all components in the USA and maintains an extensive inventory of parts for immediate shipment. *Seepex is a registered trademark of seepex GmbH + Co KG. Titan is not a distributor or manufacturer for Seepex. • Peristaltic pump maker Watson-Marlow Bredel has launched the 520 LoadSure elements range. The combination of the tube element and pumphead design provides pressure performance up to 7 bar, offering the company new application opportunities and strengthening its position within the market. The 520 LoadSure range has been designed to offer pumping pressures up to 7 bar, bolstering WatsonMarlow Bredel’s ability to directly compete against mechanical diaphragm pumps in the chemical, water and wastewater, print and food processing industries. A key feature of the 520 Series pumps and patented LoadSure elements is that element changeover takes less than one minute, requiring no special skills and can be done by the operator. “The increased performance provided by the 520RE LoadSure elements means that we are able to widen our customer base for 520 pumps considerably and compete directly against our competitors in markets that we haven’t

previously operated in,” said Watson-Marlow Bredel’s Zoe Craik. • Allweiler AG has expanded the range of applications for its ALLTRIMM antiheeling pump. ALLTRIMM is a fully redesigned inline propeller pump with reversible hydraulics. The improved pump has the same dimensions but maximum flow rate is one-third higher at 1300 m3/hour. It is also available in an explosion-protected version. The pump is especially suited for use in container ships, cruise ships, and roll-on/roll-off vessels. One of its innovative features is inclusion of the drive in the pump lobe. “ALLTRIMM concept is according to Allweiler strategy to serve our customers with products that reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO),” said Dr Michael Matros, Allweiler general manager and a member of the management board. • The new ABS submersible sludge pumps JS12-15 are small, lightweight and efficient. The pumps are designed for applications needing excellent solid handling capabilities. The main advantages of the new JS12-15 are the 40 mm free solid passage using vortex impeller, wear resistant hydraulic parts in nodular cast iron, lightweight aluminium design, plug-in start with motor protection, dry running capability and float switch for automatic level control. The new ABS sludge pumps JS12-15 are available in 0,9 to 1,5 kW. The sludge pump series now includes six different models ranging from 0,9 kW to 9 kW.
