New Wilo brand for drinking water systems Wilo says that it has now extended its Wilo Stratos pump series with four new models under the Wilo Stratos-Z brand designed for drinking-water circulation systems, hot-water heating systems and industrial circulation systems. They have been produced in accordance with German drinking water regulations (TrinkwV 2001), at a maximum temperature of +80°C. The Stratos-Z pumps, like the Stratos and Stratos-D series, can also be used as regulated wet-running pumps in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, with temperatures of 10 to +110 °C, Wilo reports. The Stratos-Z pumps are also said to reduce electricity consumption through their ECM technology. In building and plant installations, the pumps reportedly use up to 80% less electricity than unregulated pumps. In drinking
water circulation systems with thermostatically controlled line shut-off fittings, the Stratos-Z automatically adapts the pump output to the varying load conditions. With its corrosionresistant, red-brass pump housing, the Stratos-Z is also suitable for systems where the water may contain oxygen. The pump’s regulation module can be mounted horizontally or vertically and the Stratos-Z is delivered with an insulating shell which can reduce heat losses in applications where hot water is pumped.

New pump has ‘roller and shoe’ design Wanner Engineering has introduced the Vector Series 3005 peristaltic pump, a low maintenance pump which includes a lubricant-filled cavity for constant lubrication and is capable of continuous duty pumping of harsh liquids at up to 200 PSI. This pump also reportedly features a ‘roller and shoe’ design that usually needs less starting torque and creates less abrasion than typical straight shoe designs, making the pumps easier on motor/drive systems with improved hose life. The Vector Series 3005 is available in a range of configurations and flows and can handle fluids with viscosity up to 100,000 cps, at temperatures up to 180ºF (82ºC), Wanner reports. The pumps can also handle solids up

to 0.6 inches (15mm) and fibres up to 4 inches (100 mm) in length. They are suitable for use in water and wastewater treatment, chemical and petrochemical processing, pulp and paper and ceramics and mining. The Vector Series 3005 pump has no packings or seals and can run dry without damage.
