Solid-state

h.v. module

for c.r.t. supplies

New from Brandenburg Ltd, the Model 695 is reported to be a compact, rugged high voltage module designed for providing the power supply for cathode-ray tubes and similar applications. The unit can be used as a direct replacement for Brandenburg’s earlier Models 576 and 778, using identical mounting centres. The Model 695 uses solid-state circuitry throughout; the output voltage may be varied over a wide range by simple adjustment of the dc supply. The power supply is vacuum encapsulated in a metal case, which prevents voltage breakdown and provides electrostatic screening. The main high-voltage output provides 2 kV to 15 kV dc at 200 pA (positive or negative to order) with a maximum ripple of 15 V peak-to-peak and a typical source impedance of 7 MQ. An additional low-voltage output of 500 V ac peak-to-peak (providing 500 PA after rectification) with a source impedance of about 100 kR is suitable for applications such as focus supply. The input may be varied according to the output requirements, up to a maximum of 22 V dc for 15 kV output. Maximum input current is 300 mA.
