Ninth Congress of the International Society for Fat Research (I.S.F.) be held in Rotterdam. The Netherlands, from September 16-21, 1968. technical programme will consist of plenary lectures by invited speakers, about 100 papers to be presented before five sections: Lipids (biochemistry, nutrition); Oils and Fats (analysis, structure, synthesis); Oils and Fats (technology); Soaps and Detergents (physical chemistry, analysis, technology); Chemicals (fatty acid derivatives, detergent raw materials). Sessions of these five sections will, in part, be held concurrently. The plenary lectures will be given by: Dr H. J. Hutton: "Hydrogenation of Fats"; Prof. Dr E. Lederer: "Les Applications de la Spectromrtrie de masse la D~termination de Substances lipidiques complexes d'Int~r~t Biologique"; Prof. Dr J. Lyklema: "Thin Liquid Films"; Prof. Dr F. Lynen: "Chemical Mechanisms and Biological Regulation of the Biosynthesis of Lipids". Closing date for final registration for the Congress is April 15, 1968. The preliminary programme, giving the titles of papers to be presented, detailed information on technical excursions, social functions, lady's programme etc., can be obtained from Secretariat IXth I.S.F.
