The following two articles emerged from an international conference which brought together planners from around the world to share perspectives on the shape and form of an inter-disciplinary view of the concept of “planning.” We chose two of those articles to present in Evaluation and Program Planning as part of an effort to encourage dialogue between those who label themselves as “evaluators” and those who label themselves as “planners.” Both groups look at similar phenomena from different but complimentary viewpoints. We feel that both fields would benefit from a sense of how each looks at issues of concern to the other.
