WORLD PUMPS
NOV Mono reaches Astronomical heights cavity pump on our equipment but they were proving to be inferior,” says Managing Director Robin Gronbach. “Customers were complaining that the pumps were suffering failures and that was beginning to affect our reputation as a manufacturer, so we had to make a change.” The Epsilon pumps are designed to deliver low whole-life costs and reduced spares requirements.
A UK supplier of dipping plant and ancillary equipment to the world’s latex, nitrile and PVC industries has underlined their confidence in NOV Mono by ordering four Epsilon high pressure progressing cavity pumps. The pumps have been fitted to the balloon-making equipment manufactured by Greenbrook Automations of Chesterfield, and have helped to transform the company’s reputation with its customers. “We had previously been using another brand of progressing
The pumps fitted to the balloonmaking equipment were handling highly abrasive, fine powder slurry, made of ground-up sedimentary rock known as Diatomaceous earth. Greenbrook required new pumps they could rely on to handle such a demanding application. “We had some experience of Mono equipment and knew that the company had a good reputation,” continues Robin. “When we investigated further we found that the Mono pumps were very competitively priced, but were also a lot better in terms of quality. http://www.mono-pumps.com/
Watson-Marlow launches QDOS 60 The Qdos 60 peristaltic metering pump is designed to reduce chemical metering costs compared to conventional solenoid or stepperdriven diaphragm metering pumps. The new model follows the launch of the Qdos 30 pump, expanding the Qdos range to incorporate flow rates from 0.001 to 15 GPH at 100psi. The manufacturers claim that the Qdos range of pumps eliminates the need for ancillaries, boosts productivity, and cuts chemical wastage. Tool-free maintenance ensures that total cost of ownership is minimized. Watson-Marlow’s patented ReNu pumphead technology provides a single, safely contained component for rapid maintenance. Qdos pumps are designed for disinfection, pH adjustment and www.worldpumps.com

flocculation of drinking water, wastewater and industrial process water, as well as reagent dosing and metering in mineral processing tasks. The Qdos 60 is suited to chemical metering applications found in larger water treatment plants where flow demand is greater than that provide by the existing Qdos 30 model. www.wmpg.com

Pump Engineering’s quick change hose pump A new, compact peristaltic pump which enables quick-change hose replacement in seconds without the need for tools has been introduced by liquids handling specialists Pump Engineering. The Ponndorf P Delta pump features a simple, one handle operation which disconnects / reconnects the pump head to enable quick hose replacement as well as fast and effective cleaning.
The combination of its non-contact, low-pulsation operation and fast hose replacement makes the Ponndorf P Delta pump an ideal choice for applications involving delicate or shear sensitive fluids, such as in the food, brewing, paint, pigments and printing industries where quick-changes of ingredients, additives or inks may be required.

The compact Ponndorf P Delta is self-priming can run dry safely and self-prime from up to 8 m. It requires only a small footprint, so can be integrated into applications where space is very limited. Standard three roller models or four roller models for smoother flow are available for handling flows up to 975 lit /hour with a maximum pressure of 4 bar.
Verderflex Dura in US water treatment plant A water treatment plant in the US state of Georgia uses several wells to provide its residents and industries with fresh water. Each well site had to be equipped with the appropriate treatment equipment to ensure that the water meets and exceeds regulatory requirements. One such well site used a diaphragm-style reciprocating metering pump to pump lime slurry directly into the well output. The well runs about 12 hours per day and discharges either to the system or to the tower for storage. Lime slurry demand is up to 11.4 litres per minute (3 gallons per minute) and must be pumped at pressures exceeding 4 bar (60 psi). Traditional diaphragm-style metering pumps use check valves which wear out and cause efficiency loss. Because this well site is unmanned, water plant super-
visor Mr. Gibson or his associates had to make daily trips to the site in order to check the pump’s efficiency - becoming a major headache for the department. Verder’s local representative, GPM Environmental, introduced the plant to the Verderflex Dura, a peristaltic metering pump that does not suffer from abrasive wear and does not lose efficiency over time. Mr Gibson purchased one unit and noticed how smoothly and quietly the unit ran compared with the old diaphragm pumps. http://verderusa.com
