✦ POSITION: Assistant Professor (75% Extension; 25% Research), Department of Foods and Nutrition (12-month, tenure-track appointment) who will serve as an Extension Specialist in the area of human nutrition and health promotion RESPONSIBILITIES: Include: 1) Provide leadership for nutrition education programs in disease prevention and health maintenance throughout the lifespan; 2) Develop, implement and evaluate programs to train county Extension agents and educate the public; 3) Develop grant proposals and obtain external funding to support community nutrition education programs; 4) Revise existing content and assessment tools as needed; 5) Serve as a major advisor for graduate students and engage students in Extension nutrition/health research and outreach programs; 6) Support 4-H foods and nutrition programs through leadership for and participation in project contests. QUALIFICATIONS: All applicants must have a Ph.D. in nutrition, public health, or a related field; Registered Dietitian preferred; have the ability to work independently and collaboratively on Extension programs and research; have strong communication skills; have demonstrated potential for extramural funding; be committed to the Cooperative Extension mission. Experience with Cooperative Extension and a history of refereed publications are desired.
