GENERAL ORGANIZATION OF MATERIAL Within each A-chain, information is collected by isotope and arranged in order of increasing Z. For each isotope, AZ, the arrangement of material and conventions for inclusion in tables are described below. Uncertainties are shown whenever available. 1. 2.

Adopted levels in AZ - All adopted level properties are shown for each level, together with explanatory comments. Radiations from AZ decay - All adopted radiation properties are shown for each a - or 7-radiation from decay of the AZ ground state. Properties of e - , ~3+ or fl--branches are shown if they have special interest. Radiations from AZ isomeric-state decay - Decay of each isomeric state is presented according to the same conventions as for the ground-state decay. Levels in AZ " / (Reactions are ordered by A, Z of target, then deduced from decay t by A, Z of incident nucleus.) A heading is Levels in AZ given for each reaction. The detailed results deduced from nuclear reaction are tabulated only when the information is Nuclear-reaction 7-rays not adequately summarized on the drawings.

The decay scheme %s based mainly on 74Br02. Evaluators propose additional levels (and the related 7 placements) based on primary (high-E7) gammas, intensity balance and good energy fits; these are the levels at: 3216.9, 3353.1, 3452.9, 3492.6, 3655.1. In addition, the following originally unplaced gammas are placed now from previously proposed levels: 308.5, 458.8, 532.5, 533.5. T7 feeding of 22~ 5 to the 368 level is unaccounted for. Multiple placement is suggested by e v a l u a t o r s for ~40 gammas (uniquely placed by 7qRr02). Their intensities i~ the new placements are shown as ~T7; they are shown dashed (tentative) on the drawing, unless there is evidence that they are in fact unresolved multiplets. The criterion used for placement was ~I standard deviation for the energy fit. IT-normalization: from IT(3687)=81 photons per 100 n-captures in natural mercury of 700r05 and 94% 4 of all thermal n-captures due to *99Hg (from 73~uI~). With this normalization, the adopted decay scheme accounts for 97% 16 of I7 to the g.s. The uncertainty in I7-normaliYation on an estimate of 15~ uncertainty in the absolute intensities of 700r05. 9 7 ~ enriched z99Hg target (74Sr02). For ET<2-~eV cryst, for ET>I-MeV Ge(Li) (74Br02). The source was produced by the decay of a0Opo which was mass separated from reaction products of !r(t¢N,xn). Since no chemistry was done, it is possib!e that some 36,4-m, 7+ 2OOBi was a!s3 in the source. From !7(245)/I7(I026) in this source and in puc~ 36.4-m sources (see ZOOBi decay (36.4 m)), we conclude that ~10~ of the activity studied by 78LiZM is due to 36.4-m, 7+ aooBi. E(!eve!)

• he decay scheme is based mainly on the 77 coin results of 73Pa0~. There is a discrepancy in I7(1026) between the different experiments: 72Kr08 and 77LiZF suggest that two ZOOBi isomers exist of approximately the same T,/z. The low-spin isomer (possibly 2+ from (w hglz) (u fszz)) is produced from zOO~o ( decay (77LiZF) and spa!lation of u r a n i u m (72Kr08); this (2+) isomer is expected to decay strongly through the 1026 level of zOOpb. The 17 data of 70Ha14 suggest that less than 2~ of their activity (produced by zO~pb(d,6n) E(d)=52 HeY) consists of the (2+) isomer. The I7 data of 73Pa0q suggest that perhaps =10% of tSe activity (produced b7 Pb(p,xn)) is due to the (2+) isomer). E7 .
