DONALD ROY PRATT, M.D. Members of the Society and those interested in Hand Surgery throughout the world, will be grieved to learn of the untimely death of Donald Roy Pratt, Past President of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and for many years associated with the late Sterling Bunnell and myself in the practice of our specialty in San Francisco. Don Pratt died on July 4th, 1970 shortly following a massive cerebral haemorrhage. At the time of" his death he was on the executive Council of the American Society, and President of the Sterling Bunnell Memorial Foundation. A graduate of Stanford Medical School, Don Pratt was well-known by members of the British Society and colleagues in Scandinavia and on the Continent. He served for five years with distinction in the U.S. Army during World War II. In addition to his surgical proficiencies, his teaching and contributions in Hand Surgery, he was keenly active in civic affairs, and in horticulture, attaining public acclaim in both. Don Pratt is survived by his wife Arlene, two sons and his mother. He will be sorely missed by his many friends and associates. L.D.H.
