Om P. Bahl
We are saddened to announce the death, on 10 December 2004, of Professor Om P. Bahl. Professor Bahl, a former editor for Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, conducted fundamental research on human chorionic gonadotropin, leading to the development of the home pregnancy test. His later work addressed the role of the hormone in tumor growth. BahlÕs honors included the Dernham Fellowship of the American Cancer Society, the American Chemical SocietyÕs Schoellkopf Medal, and the Life Science Award from the Asian Indian Organizations in North America. He also received the Padma Bhushan, the highest civilian award conferred by the government of India, in recognition of his scientific achievement in the fields of reproductive biology and pregnancy control. Om Bahl was a professor at the University of Buffalo Department of Biological Sciences. The Editors Available online 24 March 2005
